Once upon a time, in a forest, there was a monkey who lived on a fruit-bearing tree near a river. One day, a crocodile came to the river to rest and saw the monkey eating some delicious fruits from the tree. The crocodile was amazed by the monkey's agility and grace and struck up a conversation with him.

The monkey and the crocodile soon became good friends and started meeting every day. The crocodile would bring the monkey some fish from the river, and in return, the monkey would give him some fruits from the tree. They talked and laughed together and enjoyed each other's company.

One day, the crocodile's wife tasted the fruits and liked them so much that she asked the crocodile to bring her some. The crocodile, who loved his wife very much, agreed to do so. But when he asked the monkey for some fruits, the monkey refused, saying that he needed all the fruits for himself.
